counselling, psychology, provisional psychologist

A Registered Provisional Psychologist is different from a Registered Psychologist in several ways. To become a fully Registered Psychologist in Alberta there are requirements that must be met. These include completing 1600 hours of supervised and evaluated practice, completion of the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP), completion of the Law and Ethics for Alberta Psychologists examination (LEAP), completion of mandatory training on Preventing and Addressing Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct, criminal record and vulnerable sector check, professional references, engaging in the continuing competence program, and the annual renewal of the practice permit. Details of this can be found on the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) website, https://www.cap.ab.ca/registration/registration-and-supervision.
